On
Sunday 20th July the Solway Aquarist Society held their annual tri-specialist
Open Show at the Barony College, Dumfries.
The Open Show drew a total of
115 entries. A number of rare fish were on show that included Corydoras weitzmani,
L102, Bathyaethiops breuseghemi, Poecilia chica, L128 and Corydoras 'super Arcuatus'.
Mr.
Brian Walsh (FNAS) was in charge of judging the characin classes, Mr. Peter Wright
(T.T.A.A.F.B.A.S.) the livebearer classes and David Marshall (Y.A.A.S.) the catfish
classes.
The three major awards were given as follows:-
Best characin
and Best in Show - Bernard O'Neill (Workington A.S.) with a Characidium fasciatum.
Best
livebearing fish - Gavin Cowan (Solway A.S.) with a Characodon lateralis.
Best
catfish and Crich Memorial Trophy - Robbie Kirkup (STAMPS) with a Microglanis
poecilus.
